Mediation...how can it work for you?

Mediation is a confidential, cost effective, voluntary method of informal Dispute resolution where a neutral third party mediator guides parties in dispute to self-determine their own solutions to their problems. The Irish Mediation Bill 2012 is currently awaiting Government approval, once enacted it aims to encourage the use of mediation as an efficient alternative to litigation in resolving disputes.  Mediation is now recognised worldwide as the most successful form of resolving disputes. Recent studies have shown that mediation is effective in over 80% of cases with parties reaching mutually acceptable agreements and in the 20% where no agreement is reached, people come away from the experience with a greater understanding of each other's concerns that allows for greater communication in future interactions.

For those interested in learning how mediation can work to help resolve conflicts in the workplace, family or commercial areas, The NRM Network, Ireland are holding a free open information evening next Tuesday 12th May from 5-7pm at The Connacht Hotel, Galway.  The mediation seminar titled 'Mediation, how can it work for me?'  is a free event that will include informative talks from practicing mediators and legal practitioners as well as a Q&A session with international certified Mediation practitioners along with information on how to access mediation services locally. To register for the event please e.mail info@nrm.ie
