About Us...

Our Mediators...

Established in 2013, the NRM Network is a not-for-profit, charity organisation dedicated to the promotion and use of mediation, the setting and maintaining of high standards in the industry, and the development of educational supports to highlight the benefits of choosing mediation as the no. 1 form of alternative dispute resolution in the Republic of Ireland.

This Network is also a resource for mediators to connect with each other and keep updated as to industry developments in Ireland and on the international stage. The NRM Network is dedicated to promoting best practice in the field of mediation and other forms of dispute resolution in Ireland. We believe that mediation when facilitated by competent, trained and experienced mediators; can change the landscape of dispute resolution to a more positive experience for all parties concerned.

This network works closely with other professional bodies and associations and welcomes all mediators as members regardless of their affiliation and chosen certification provider. All we ask is that a member must be dedicated to working in an ethical way and in line with our stated mission and objectives. We require that all of our members participate in the spirit of collaboration and promotion of best practice in Ireland.

As an organisation we provide 5 levels of membership. For information about our membership options please click a button below...

Mentoring...

Attending a good 60 hour training programme will set a new mediator on the right pathway, but it does not make a person ready to mediate. Newly trained mediators are generally full of enthusiasm and passion for mediation and want to get out there and change the world. However without guidance, mentoring and the ability to gain experience; the newly trained yet inexperienced mediator will find it hard to make practical application of their training and enter the mediation market place.

The NRM network aims to assist newly trained yet inexperienced mediators to develop their skills, access mentoring, practical experience, and avail of information resources. We provide role play sessions, workshops, individual coaching and mentoring and a forum to collaborate with other new mediators.

We aim to break down existing barriers. New mediators can find it hard to get assistance from more experience practitioners, why? Unfortunately new mediators entering the marketplace can be seen as a threat to existing practices. At the NRM Network we feel that when new and seasoned mediators collaborate it is a win-win. The new mediators learn how theory works in practice and gains opportunity to get experience. However the more experienced practitioner gets the opportunity to keep the industry fresh and vibrant, they can also keep up-to-date with new ideas and trends.
Our aim is to provide an environment for all in the industry to grow and help make mediation accessible to all who need it. We do not believe that mediation should only be practised by people from a certain educational or industry background. Mediation requires practitioners from all sectors of society; all we seek is that any and all mediators work to best practice and with the needs of their clients at heart.
