News & Events

Thank you to the NRM volunteer mediators who participated in the Conflict Resolution Centre's (CRC) Post Primary schools  'Changing Conflict' mediation education programme.

The CRC's schools programme has been successfully piloted and delivered over the past two years in five Galway schools to transition year students and also at 3rd level at NUIG. There were 139 student participants overall during the 2017/2018 term.

A feedback questionnaire was complete by each participant and an overall analysis report utilising a likert scale was produced on conclusion of the pilot. This report concluded that overall 95.1% of respondents agreed that the workshop provided them with a good understanding of mediation and the conflict resolution process. It also reported that respondents gained the skills and an understanding of the conflict resolution process that they can apply to their own life to help prevent a possible conflict situation developing.

We are grateful to all the NRM mediators who participated in this important community education initiative. Well done to all involved.
