Description of
Board Roles

Chairperson
The Chairperson: 
- Holds the Directors to account for the NRM’s mission and vision, providing inclusive leadership to the Board, ensuring that each director fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the organisation
- Supports, and ensures that the Board functions as a unit and works closely to achieve agreed objectives 
- Leads meetings of the Board of Directors effectively and efficiently, bringing impartiality and objectivity to the decision making process
- Acts as an ambassador both Nationally and Internationally and represents the public face of the NRM Network

Director of Accreditation
The Director of Accreditation is responsible for:
- Implementation and coordination of the accreditation process in accordance with NRM standards, policies, and procedures. 
- Reviews and assures applications for Accreditations hold quality and compliance with NRM standards. 
- Within the NRM, the position has primary working relationships with the Chairperson and Board of Directors

Treasurer
The Treasurer:
- Represents financial information and reference point for the Chairperson and other NRM Directors
- Is responsible for managing NRM bank accounts, setting up appropriate systems for book-keeping, payments, day-to-day banking and financial matters
- Ensures proper records and documentation, outlining the current financial status; and retrieving relevant documentation.
- Within the NRM, the position has primary working relationships with the Chairman and Board of Directors

Director of Events
The Director of Events is responsible for:
- Managing NRM events and ensuring deadlines and budgets and resources are adhered to
- Coordinates activities related to National and Regional Events, Information Sessions, Role Plays to Members and Public, AGM.
- Within the NRM, the position has primary working relationships with the Chairman and Board of Directors

Director of Communications
The Director of Communications:
- Crafts the NRM communication message surrounding public education information and NRM membership in relation to all forms of communication channels, press, media and digital platforms
- Provides creative direction in developing the NRM brand and building a digital presence
- Oversees online presence and website activities
- Provides strategic focus and advice to the NRM to improve and develop the current NRM activities, vision and mission and promotion of active membership.
- Reviews and meets the on-going, possibly changing needs and demands of the NRM mission. 
- Within the NRM, the position has primary working relationships with the Chairperson and Board of Directors

Political Liaison Officer
The Political Liaison Officer assists the NRM Board and Chairperson with developing, maintaining, and promoting effective community and intergovernmental relationships between the NRM and local, state governmental agencies, business and community groups. Within the NRM, the position has primary working relationships with the Chairperson and Board of Directors

Family & Community Officer
The Family & Community Officer (FCO) assists the NRM Board and Chairperson in providing  advice and research  in relation to community pilot schemes and family mediation practice. The FCO seeks to identify opportunities to implement and align NRM on a collaborative basis with similar community and family schemes on the ground. The FCO aims to promote greater awareness around the need for public education of the benefits of mediation as the best way forward for resolving conflict where disputes exist within family and communities

Workplace Liaison Officer
The Workplace Liaison Officer (WLO) assists the NRM Board and Chairperson with developing, maintaining, and promoting effective mediation standards within the workplace. The WLO advises the NRM  on mediation workplace strategy and the promotion of mediation in the workplace. The WLO aims to raise awareness through workplace education of benefits of early engagement in mediation as a positive and informal process of resolving conflict in disputes arising in the workplace 

Community Dialogue Officer
The Community Dialogue Officer (CDO) focuses on improving inter-community dialogue and communications at community levels using community forums and open panel discussions.
